How did the Celts live? The large number of evidence and reminders of the settlement of Celts in our territory mean that we now know quite a bit about what their everyday lives looked like. The Celtic Archaeological Park in Nasavrky is a place where it is possible to listen to many stories associated with ancient times. Moreover, where else could you learn more about the Celts than in a place where they actually lived? The area around the Iron Mountains attracted people in the past with its beauty, so it is no wonder that the remnants of Celtic settlements have been found there. The Celtic Archaeological Park contains structures that endeavour to depict the appearance of the former settlements from the point of view of their layout and type. This involves the reconstruction of part of an oppidum – a Celtic town. It is the only outdoor museum of this type in Central Europe. A typical feature, which should definitely not be missed during a visit to the outdoor museum, is the pincer gate that has been constructed according to the findings from the nearby oppidum. It is therefore a highly faithful replica that completes the impression of the overall Celtic settlement. In addition to the tours, it is also possible to participate in any of the planned events and festivities. The park can likewise be booked as a venue for a party or a wedding, which is ideal for those who love history and the ancient period of the Celts. The Celtic Archaeological Park is part of the Země Keltů non-profit organisation. Its main goal is to present a Celtic settlement in the local landscape. In addition to the outdoor museum, there is also an exhibition entitled On the Trail of the Celts [Po stopách keltů] located in the Nasavrky Château, an educational trail and an oppidum in nearby České Lhotice. Refreshments are available in the local tavern. The park is best accessed by car or on foot from the bus stop in Nasavrky. The surrounding local nature also offers opportunities for other trips, so it is possible to spend an entire weekend doing activities in the area.
